Haley + Nathaniel decided that they weren't going to let anything stop them from becoming husband and wife on their original wedding date. They had been counting down the days to May 16th for over a year and all they wanted was to be married to their best friend, the party could wait if it had to.
After waiting and waiting for restrictions to be lifted and some last minute changes, we got a nice cottage at the Margaritaville Resort in Orlando, Florida, where Haley + Nathaniel are now living, for both our immediate families to stay and help these two love birds get hitched. The nine of us got up on the morning of May 16th for a beautiful little Florida elopement.
The ceremony was much smaller than they had planned but the amount of love and joy that was shared was not in short supply. Tears and laughs were had by all. Small intimate weddings are the new big thing, don't be afraid to say your 'I do's with just a few loved ones present.
Nathaniel's dad got ordained just to minister their wedding. We found a cute little spot on the almost deserted resort grounds to hold the ceremony, with most of the tourists gone it was like our own private island.
With such a small group everyone had a job to help pull this off, Lilly's was to present the rings even though she was already in tears and to do it without tripping. Surprisingly she managed to pull it off!
What you won't see here that you can see in the wedding video is that Haley had to subtly check her L's on her hands to make sure the ring was going on the correct hand. Oh Haley...
The newly weds and I then explored the rest of the resort for some beautiful portraits of just the bride and groom before heading back to our cottage to dive in the pool.
Haley + Nathaniel will be celebrating with a second ceremony August 29th, 2020. If you know Haley then you're probably not surprised she figured out how to have two wedding days.
